A surface that looks freshly broken from the rock
Rockface is a surface treatment where the front face of a natural stone slab is fractured instead of cut. The fracture follows the stone's own grain, producing a raised, three-dimensional texture with no saw marks. Every slab breaks only once. No two rockface facades are ever the same.
That depth turns the facade into a surface that lives throughout the day: shadows stretch in the morning light, the texture softens at midday, the stone turns orange at sunset. Where paint and plaster stay flat on a single plane, rockface works with the light.
Because it speaks the same language as Bodrum's traditional stone architecture, it has become the region's signature texture on villa and building facades.
Three steps from block to facade
Rockface isn't a type of stone — it's a surface treatment applied to natural stone. The stone's fractured surface is left as it is. Character comes from the stone; depth comes from the fracture.
Block from the quarry
Natural stone blocks are cut at the quarry and brought to the workshop.
Slab cutting
Blocks are cut into 2-3 cm thick slabs in modular sizes.
Surface fracturing
The front face of the slab is broken off with a special fracturing process; this is the step where the non-repeating, three-dimensional rockface texture is born.

Rockface cladding is an engineering job. Stone selection, the adhesive system and the joint detail are all set up for the Bodrum climate.
2-3 cm slab thickness
Gives the look of a solid stone wall, but it's a slab system applied directly to your existing facade.
Minimal load on the structure
A thin slab is far lighter than solid stone. No extra foundation or structural reinforcement needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rockface
How much does Rockface stone cladding cost per m²?
The price is set by the stone type, total square meters, the surface's current condition, scaffolding needs and logistics. A number given without seeing these variables is misleading, which is why we don't publish a price list. We take the on-site measurement and give you a written, firm price after the survey. No commitment required.
Does it add extra load to the building, or cause structural issues?
No. The 2-3 cm slab system is far lighter than a solid stone wall and is applied to your existing facade with chemical adhesive. No extra foundation or structural reinforcement is needed.
Can it be applied over an existing painted or plastered facade?
Yes. The surface is first checked for soundness; if needed, loose plaster is removed and a primer is applied. Proper surface preparation is our responsibility and is included in the quote.
Does sea air and frost damage the stone?
Not if the right stone is chosen. For the Bodrum coastline we use low water-absorption stones and an exterior-grade adhesive-and-joint system; rockface doesn't fade under UV and holds up to freeze-thaw cycles.
Can I just buy the stone and have my own mason install it?
Yes. Material supply is a separate service: we prepare rockface stone to your measurements and ship it anywhere in Türkiye. Tell us your measurements and delivery city and we'll send a written price.
How long does installation take, and who does it?
If you choose turnkey, the installation is handled by Bekstones's own crew. Small accent walls are done in a few days; a full villa facade usually takes a few weeks. We give you a clear schedule at the survey.
